Bingo. Breather hose was kinked, under the frame. Easy when you know where to look....

I had the same problem on my SS and I changed the soft rubber breather tube with a substantially stronger one. This was because I rode often with a large tank bag that would slip forward occasionally and pinch the original tube.Real fun when leaned over on a corner at night on a dark road with a dump truck coming the other way!!!
