I know we take the risk with pipes etc but It's so unfair. Never seen the same for cars. They have never had the resouces when i have called the police.

I have been checked in the car. Police set up a checkpoint along the road out of Gosport and were checking cars at random. Basic check of lights, tyres and docs (producer), so it does happen occasionally.

I was really annoyed 2 weeks ago when I was travelling in Essex. Long traffic Jam out of Wickford to the A127. When I got to the front the Police had coned off a lane and were pulling people in for a census with compliance enforced by the police. There were at least 10 officers. What a waste.

Thumbs down
Thanks for the heads up Bunny. Thats unusual for Avon and Somerset, I have never had any problems with them as yet and my dealings through work over the years with their bike officers has always given me the impression that they are a bunch of nice genuine bike fans. I have got friendly with a few as they like the Ducati and always looked at it and chatted to me about it when they were visiting with prisoners. I suspect as usual its higher up the chain which is grinding the axe, and if the councils involved then I would say its them. Its interesting that the boy racer capital of the South West will not be pulling the scud missile looking exhaust gangs which sream up and down the sea front everyday, but will instead be pulling bikes who's usual deal is to ride to the sea front, have some chips and a drink, chat with others and leave.
