"Forgot to mention,my wifes Y2k M900i.e uses the same throttle as the 998.The injection throttle bodies and mechanism is very similar to the ones fitted to the superbikes,.....cant see why the cable would'nt fit either."

If you look at a 998---916 throttle cable it actuates the butterflys from the right side of the H cylinder.

The 999 range operate the throttle butterflys from the nearside of the V cylinder.

Other than turning the bellmouths around, you need a longer cable!
