Nope. I fund it mostly out of my pocket - had a bit of help last year but, not much. I don't drink, I don't go out and I live a very modest lifestyle to fund it.

Nige - we are 3 & half hours from Oulton & Cadwell tho on a clear run, and about 3 from Donny - and thats if we dont have to take detours/get stuck in traffic.
Brands is our nearby one, which should take about 45/50 mins, tho can take up to 2 hours motorway permitting. Even dear old Castle is 2+ hours, so for us, the tracks are mostly all 'oop norf' and we need oxygen masks
Van fuel roughtly works out about £10.50 per hour, unless 'sir' has the bee in his bonnet, then consumption goes up quite a bit

Hi again Phillc,

I'm sorry, I do get where you get your figures from and mine will be different as I already have race kit, although had to go through the ACU/NEW ERA Licence stuff and I have been doing a trackday or two-a-month for the last couple of years, so I dont see these as any extra costs to me, only the race entries and bike outlay.

The bike has cost just over £2k to buy and put on the track competatively, thats without any engine work or labour costs as all done by me. There will be other consumable costs such as oil, filters, belts, fuel, etc. and I have these in mind. I also have a fair amount of spares amounting to bodywork, footpegs, clip-ons, etc. all came with the bike and I have the seller to thank for that!!! My 620 project bike also has lent some parts to the 583, as have my 900ss ie (brake discs, mudguard, etc.), which will either get replaced or the 583 will gain these for itself as these come along.

Andy
