My bike cost about £5k all in, but a large chunk of that was the 6-speed 'box + fitting. This season won't see much change from £5k, and a fair amount more from lost earnings for track days etc....

In my whole life I'd reckon on spending approx £4.5m ( ). £20k for three seasons racing? How cheap???

iv just added up everything iv spent on racing this year and it comes in under £4500 but like i say

i did buget £2000 on getting a bike and sorting it spent so far £1800 inc tyres, fairing bike cost £1000 off ebay

bugeted £1500 on race fees and licence and should come to about this at the end of the season that fuel in my car entry fees and fuel for the bike

so like i say im sure can do it for £3000

also put £1000 to one side for crashes and trackdays and so far crashed twice cost of £200 and 3 trackdays £380 and assen at £250 ferry fuel race fees split it with frend that came with me

cost of my car and triler and insurance was covered by the sale of my road bike

buget for next year stands at £2500 for all race fees, licence, transport, few trackdays and assen (i hope) as im back at university

Reckon i've spent about £1k this year on both bikes ( including prepping Dessie from a road to race bike) Oh and including Assen

Graeme got a 10th with Dessie in only his 3rd meeting - worth the pennies I think.

Then with TD's added too it is virtually doubled.
Over £1k just to get the bikes about (and thats without the £70+ for the Cadwell TD in Aug).

Nigel, am envious you dont have so far to travel

Factoring in the bike fuel for two bikes is too stressing for me at the moment, tho I can see it blazing out at me on my spreadsheet

god knows where u lot get your figures from................

Cost of a front running class A bike is no less than 3k..........( some as much as 5k .! )

7 meetings at average 140 entry = £980

1 meeting assen = with fuel accomodation and entry + trackday £ 300

2 sets tyres = £300

Fuel for bike and van/car = £600

Trackdays practise average 3 with fuel etc = £700

Now add in the crash damadge the uprgades say = £350

Thats over 6K for one season and thats being conservative as i know peeps that do alot more than 3 track days and run more than 2 sets of tyres...and have spent alot omore on bikes etc etc........

6k............

dont kid yourselves

Exactly why im not gonna be Racing at Snetterton....................

Well, baring in mind I haven't had to build a bike, and I already had everything I needed (kit wise etc) my budget is between £3000 - £4000 depending on crash damage, and not including memberships etc.

Sorry if the image is large...

Well put Dom, those look pretty similar to mine, except we have double the bike petrol costs. (mind you, we didnt half use a lot earleir this year, tho not as much as expected at Oulton tho)
We dont keep a full log of spares costs, cos as you know AK carries a few about anyway, but we also have an 'emergency slush fund' of about £300 for any other bits needed quickly.

Fil, I think many others forget all the 'consumable' costs.
I'm just happy that the riders pay their entries & TD costs

Ur having a larf aintya?

I live in the far north. Brands in 300+ miles
Pembrey is 400+ miles.
Lydden is 350 miles.

These are each way. I strictly keep my speedo at 60mph to save fuel and cos I'm on my own.

I probably travel further than anyone on a regular basis. Last year I travelled as far north as Knockhill and down to Pembrey - only missing the Brands MRO round due to illness.

.....in fact looking at it again I think I am under-budgeting my diesel costs Oh joy! More expense! I'll allow £1000 then.

Nope. I fund it mostly out of my pocket - had a bit of help last year but, not much. I don't drink, I don't go out and I live a very modest lifestyle to fund it.

Nige - we are 3 & half hours from Oulton & Cadwell tho on a clear run, and about 3 from Donny - and thats if we dont have to take detours/get stuck in traffic.
Brands is our nearby one, which should take about 45/50 mins, tho can take up to 2 hours motorway permitting. Even dear old Castle is 2+ hours, so for us, the tracks are mostly all 'oop norf' and we need oxygen masks
Van fuel roughtly works out about £10.50 per hour, unless 'sir' has the bee in his bonnet, then consumption goes up quite a bit
