I think the KTM has a lot of the GS positives and better quality suspension components and cheap, nylon bodywork. The only downside seem to the slighty questionable seat comfort, a chain (not idea for maga tours) and the seat height. How tall are you? Any issues? rgds, Rob |

i'm 6' 3" tall. the cheap bodywork ain't so cheap, each side of the tank is £660 so crash bars are a good investment. Hope i don't test them in the Alps off roading next week.

The seat is not brill but i've still managed a 17 hour day (few breaks for ferries etc) but have just oredered the 990 seat which is a lot softer so hope thats an improvement.
I've got a scottoiler fitted so chain ain't a big problem, doesn't need adjusting very often, easily do a few thou between adjustments.
The suspension is superb and no offence to Henners the bike makes you grin in a way no BMW GS can IMHO. It can be great fun and out of that genre of bikes that i've owned (Multistrada, BMW GS, and a Varadero) and done quite a few miles on its simply streets ahead for me. The fact that several of your mates who are ex GS owners have swapped means that i'm not alone in my sentiments.
