Smile New "0ld" Boy

hi! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mick and I am a new member of DSC. I recently bought a 996R and Im not exactly sure why. I have a perfectly good HONDA SP2 (I was going to hide that fact ,but what the hell). My Good Lady wife, (who has no interest in bikes but tolerates my passion for them) was raving ,to saythe least, when I bought the 996R home. Our son no1(fe on the dsc) let me ride his 998FE some time ago so that I could compare both bikes. They are like chalk and cheese .Do Ducatis always run that hot(200)?

Congratulations

Surprised it took you so long. Weren't you drooling over them at the BMF?

They do run hot but that seems a bit high. Get away from traffic and out on the open roads and see what's going on. At the very least, you'll know you made the right choice.

And welcome. Mine's a glass of water as this is now turning in time.

Ruth (one of the BMF market stall assistants).

Welcome!

Great to see another new(ish ?) member.

As far as the computer use seems to go, you are doing better than most of the members already

There is a wealth of info & hard earned knowledge on here but try checking out all the posts from shaazam! for a start - virtually compulsory reading on here.

(I'm not totally sure if this link will work 100% )

Then there are some useful link here:
