If more than one previous owner try phoning them all, ask what mileage the car had when they sold it on.

Either contact the last owner (However the chances are they could have altered the miles) or Contact the MOT centre who did the current MOT and see if they have any records previous to that, either MOTs or servicing.
Contact a BMW/Fiat/Vauxhall/whatever make the car is main dealer and they should have centrally held info, But that only if its been to a main dealers for servicing/work
Or Send me a fiver I'll do a HPI & Mileage check. But most times mileage is not available as no-one has ever listed the miles on that particular car.

Was it a Private or Trade sale??
