They can be repaired jools...ive just had to lend my standard 888 rear wheel to a monster riding mate until he gets sorted..rich at louigi moto is sorting his...have a look here...

Thanks Dave for answering my 'can you trust it' question - I was going to have Hagon do it if anyone because I've used their shocks and stuff in the past. They're an OK outfit, and they're not too far from me to pop the wheel in the car and gerrit done.

Cheers Nat, I saw that on UKMOC, the bend on my rim is pretty similar (oooer misus ) but not quite as vee shaped. The rim has about the same gap between it and the tyre bead, but it's spread over a bigger section of wheel so it's a longer gentler curve. I'll get a piccy of it tomorrow and see if it makes sense to repair it or bin it.
