i am looking into the power commander option and have also looked at the FIM chip. I prefer the FIM but at the moment the thing that is clinching it for me is the fact that the fim software is 1500 bucks and the pc comes with the software.

in the uk its easy to go to a dealer of either and get it dyno'd but reason i must have the software is that im in greece. the rolling road guy here wont have access to it unless i supply it. they are a bit short on many things here and bike mapping software is definately one of them.

It might be cheaper then to fly Neil spalding over from Sigma performance UK with his handheld unit for the FIM and adjust it for you !! He can get an easy jet flight for pennies ?

with the power commander option, you could start off with a base map, then do your dyno runs, but you dont mention which dyno it is he has ?
If its the 250 model, it will enable you to upload directly after a run, with the optimum map, taking into account the co readings etc.

If its not, then you will have to spend a lot more time doing runs, analysing your info and adjusting the map in increments, in order to get it right.

I have an FIM chip in my 996, and its does need tweaking, as it runs lean on the over run, so bear in mind that these chips do not solve all the problems, each engine / bike is slightly diff.

I work her as engineer for some private jets so why should i ask someone to slum it on easyjet when i could send one of the jets for them.

Operational costs for the jet are similar to a duke anyway at around $5000 an hour.

I still think the PC is the better option for my situation but given the choice and if i were in the UK then id probably go FIM.
