Paul the one you are looking for is the Tom Tom Rider - Approx £320 from TotalPDA.

I've heard some real good things about the tomtom rider. they are now doing a mount for the car so you'll only need one unit and just he mounts to move it from bike to car.

tomtom rules !

Have a Rider on my 999s, the mirror mount works great attached to the Olins steering damper mount. Been all the way to Luxembourg and as long as you get the europe wide maps, it makes the trip easy peasy !

Top tip is that you can set up a warning 'bong' to go off a set distance from a speed camera, mine is set fo 250m and is very useful...... :-)

One slight gripe is that the volume of the bluetooth headset is way too low, 100% is just about ok on fast trips.

I also have a TomTom installed on a PDA, which i used in a previous car, and thats pretty good too.

And for completeness i also have the factory satnav in an Alpina Roadster, which is a posh BMW Z4, and its nothing like as good as a tomtom !

So hope that all helps !

Don't know where that one came from, me and Quickbitch rode thru torrential rain on the way back from the Buell gathering, TomTom rider worked perfectly and still does, which is more than can be said for my Road Angel Plus.

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox N520. it was £350 for the PDA, the car charger, mounting kit and the software. It has an integral GPS chip, so no other wires/boxes etc. Would easily slip into a map pocket on a tank bag and has blue tooth, should be able to communicate with a blue tooth head set. Which means you would not have to look at the screen, which is not the safest thing to be doing. All you need to do is what the woman tells you! Nothing new there then :-) Works very well in the car, I dont need it for the bike, its just a work tool for me.

I vote for the Quest as well. I've got a Quest 2 (includes full postcode search facility), and have it hard-wired into my monster, and through an autocom system, using a kit from GPS Warehouse and a RAM mount. You don't need to have it hard-wired, and can just use the motorcycle kit and plug a headset into it. Works great in the car too. I also have a RAM mount on my Honda CRF for off-roading, using it without a headset.

Completely waterproof, 20 hours battery life, and off-road tracking too (of you're into that kind of thing). Also fits in your pocket, as it's not much bigger than a large mobile phone. I reckon it's the most versatile unit available, as you can use it like a Garmin eTrex for walking or mountain biking as well.

Good bundle deals available from GPS Warehouse.
