Exactly what we said when the guy started @@rsing around, isn't it? I don't blame the residents though, I have to say. It's a very pretty village and no doubt they value their peace and quiet. Having a bunch of inconsiderate bikers showing off on their roads must get to them, I guess. On the other hand, what could be nicer than a hoard of Ducatis trundling up as we do, sitting there quietly chatting and enjoying the sunshine.

There was also an article in MCN about the chief of Welsh Police wanting to stop bikers riding in National parks, too. So that's the Lake District and Dartmoor out if he gets his way, where I've been quietly enjoying the beautiful surroundings this year. Why is the general attitude to bikers to abysmal in this country? There are enough teenage t0ssers driving suped up Vauxhall Novas round here and nobody lifts a finger or says a word. And they are well within screaming distance of the local nick. (Yet another Hemel Rant but I'll cut this one short as it always falls on deaf ears, mainly down the local nick).

Speaking of which, just got my 'offer' of 3 points and a £60 fine for my little error on an empty dual carriageway, lost in Leicester. Option B, a Speed Awareness course, costs £60 and nil points for the licence. I'm opting for that. Hoping to make my 'positive contribution' during the 3 hour workshop, as required under the terms of this offer.

Speed awareness, go get em !!! All this persecution of irrelevant speeding is going to alienate sensible riders when the total tw*ts seem to get away with all kinds of stupidity on the roads.

Speaking of which...There was an update on the Star and Garter story in the MCN letters page, when somebody said that the allegations of drug dealing there were absolutely true. Apparently given the age of some of the bikers in there Steradent and Viagra use is rife

They can't mean me surely? It's Glyn they're talking about.

I wish that's what I'd been offered
Had a little bump not so long back and whilst trying to clear myself off the dual carriageway so I was no harm to other road user, I was Gatso'd crossing a red light (trying to get into a layby)at 12.9 MPH. Wrote to them...gave them my insurance details as proof etc and they still insist on the £60 fine and 3 points

Would that mean they should run a traffic light awareness course?

You think they'd put a bright light on the top of it to give you direction............

Nah, they have mobile units with bright flashing lights for that!

... er, at least, they used to, before they were all swapped for cameras.
