Hi, the new bikes come in a metal crate, strapped in with a cardboard cover on (which isnt very protective)

the crates get shipped back to the logististics company and find there way back to the factory.

I wouldnt recommend using one to ship a bike in really.

there are some bike transport companies that pack the bike for you. have a play with google maybe.

748RS race bike (well, 853 but who\'s counting!)

I'll second that!

Some transport companies we have used, strap the bike into a van as you may do yourself. It depends where you are going from and to.

Others require a full wooden crate built to spec by the shipping company for use with pallet trucks and fork lifts.

Good luck and safe trip.
