Question Travel advice

Hi folks a question for our London members.
I need to travel to Bethnal green on Saturday around lunch time and need to know which is the best route in. I will be coming down the M40.
I have two routes in mind. Follow the A40 through the centre or round the M25 and down the A10.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers Allan R

Do not under any circumstances go anywhere near the A10, it is roadwork central and absolute carnage.

Take the A40 into town and just keep heading east, there are a multitude of routes, i personally would get to the Embankment and just follow it all the way to Tower Bridge before cutting north into east london.

Thanks Dibble
Any idea how bad the traffic is likely to be on a Saturday.
Cheers

should be fine, just check the AA or RAC to make sure there are no marches or demos planned in and around Westminster, otherwise it should be a doddle, where in Bethnal Green you heading ?

It will be fine... as long as you're on a bike!

As for route... like Dibs said, A40 is best. Personally, I'd keep it simple - A40 - Westway - Marlybone Road - Pentonville Road - City Road - Old Street. There's road works around Kings Cross at the mo but nothing to worry about... if you're on a bike. If you're in a car then count on an average of 5mph through town.

Good luck!

Go through town - just keep on the same road until you get to the big roundabout (Old Street). Take the left at the roundabout, follow the road round to the right and then follow that road (wave to my office on the left when you go past the Tesco Express). Eventually, you will get to some traffic lights where you can't go straight - go left there and you will be on a main road (A12). Within a mile you will be in Bethnal Green.

ps Hell of a trip for a headlight fairing!
