I can't help with the why but my M600 does this from time to time, it did it this morning and made me late for its MOT eventually firing after about 10 attempts.

I general find with mine after a fair bit of swearing and stomping around it eventually gets going. Every time it does happen it’s been stood for a while so I put it down to stale/lack of fuel and the need for fresh fuel to get to the cylinders.

If there’s a proper answer I’d like to know though, it’s a right pain in the arse.

Cheers,

Shandy
