I use it to keep in touch with DSC activities like Events and Ride outs, I also like to give advise or have advise given when asked by my learned friend on here. I like to be polite and treat people like i would like to be treated myself. Make constructive criticisum and have a bit of friendly banter with like minded folk, what ever bike they ride. Life is for living not fighting 4D

As such Phoenix is quite correct on the original point, membership can't request MT all stand down and apply for re-election it can only happen if current MT can volunteer to do so.

most of these clauses were covered in much greater detail and with procedures outlined in the new constitution which needs adopting very quickly if its to apply in 2007.

after that it takes people to step up to the plate and make things happen, i'd love to think there would abe a glut of willing people to do so but i doubt it

I've met some good mates through this site... i've met 1 real friend directly through this site ... Friends come along very rarely in life... any medium that brings true friendship can't be a bad thing.

TBH one reason was I need to get out more, and meet people,
(As I work nights)

After buying my first Duc some 5yrs ago, realized that I should join a club, to talk meet like minded people.

The first year I was unfortunate in the engine went bang, and was very tempted to throw the towel in as pressures at home; with a new baby ment money was tight.

But one thing that I will never forget is the support from some peeps on this board, who without them I would never be righting this post. I really enjoy meeting all the guys on ride outs, and a DSC track day for me is a blast, my trip to the factor was like going to a spiritual home (thanks Anyone) seeing the DD take off and the success that it has had is fantastic for the club.

The one thing I have found, is make an effort, be polite and the rewards are endless, roll on 2007.

The Board is a drug, if it's happening anywhere in the world !
Remember it happend on the DSC board first ! lol

Perhaps in interest of clearing the air that's exactly what should happen.

And I used the board originally to ask about quick action throttles for my 999 but very soon was down Box Hill for my first Surrey meet. Now I post to propagate my contentious opinions with the sole intention of irritating people. Oh, that's just this week!

That's precisely my line - refreshing, isn't it?

I used to post here for technical and racing stuff, but I've now largely stopped posting and visiting the board because of some of the nonsense that has gone on here wrt. moderating certain members, threads being deleted because they offended some people who really ought to grow a skin a bit thicker than a paper bag etc.

Fortunately, not being a paid-up member elevates me above the nonsense and it becomes very easy to switch off.

I don't post much on this forum, but i am logged on most days at work and keep an eye on what's going on.

Unlike some it appears, i am a relative new boy when it comes to Ducati ownership, as i am only on my second.

Indeed, I only passed my bike test in 1995 at the age of 39 and have never looked back.

I have owned a few since then - VFR 750 X 2, ZZR1100 (recently repurchased), Blade, SP1, 996 and then my dream SP4.

Ever since i started to drive cars in 1972, i have always pulled them to bits to service and tune and sought technical information and opinion through owners clubs and books.

Call me old-fashioned, but i believe that part of the motoring package, whether cars or bikes, is to get your hands dirty every now and then, to find out how it works and how to make it stop and go a bit better.

It makes me mechanicaly sympathetic and also helps when breakdowns occur, except that if you look after it, they don't.

Of all the clubs to which i have subscribed, the DSC in the main, appears to be the most professional and i find the level of freely imparted technical knowledge staggering at times.

This is what it's all about in my opinion and whether you are fortunate enough to have several Ducati in the garage or just one, we all share the same passion.

A lot of riders only ever dream of owning a Ducati.

I can't get enough of it, i'm on the hook and my SP makes me laugh whenever i ride it.

Politics and open personal criticism on the messageboard are not what the club is about as far as I am concerned, I am here because i like the Ducati lifestyle.

If I can help out with my 2p worth I will. If not, I keep quiet.

This is the Ducati Sporting Club, it's a UK club for riders of any sort and the website is viewed the world over.

Non-owners will form an opinion of the Ducatisti from what they read here.

Lets keep it real so that it only does what it says on the tin.
