Totally agree - winning the WSBK championship and a MotoGP race in the same year!!! Julian Ryder said it right that it really is one for the history books......

Troy was awsome...

How stupid do Ducati look now, nothing like rubbing their noses in it...Nice one troy...

What is it with Ducati? Sete Gibinou (?) now Casey stoner????

After the year he`s had Troy now has the world at his feet, where will he end up in 2007?

WSB or MotoGP ?

I would assume the contract he's just signed with Ducati to race the 999 in WSB would be fairly watertight so he'd have to honour it.

Which will hamstring him if the lack of development on the 999 next year sees it fall behind the IL4's in the performance stakes.

Troy said he's happy to have that as his last GP ride and that he's comfortable in WSB. He's sitting very pretty at the moment, lets hope Ducati give him a decent bike capable of taking the title next year.

Ducati need SBK success to keep interest and help to sell bikes.
By the time he's won the next 2 championships, he'll be too old, Loris may not be there after 2007 , new young blood will have be trained by then anyway.
Nice problem to have for them though.

Thanks for posting that Frank. That first picture is now my new screensaver

I think Stoner is a good choice. He's young and he's determined. He falls off a lot, obviously, but I think Ducati has done the right thing in picking him. He's a great talent that just needs to hone his 'staying on' skills to be up there with the front runners. Much better choice than Gibernau, IMO. I feel sorry for Sete, though. He had some bad luck this year. Has anyone hired him for next year?
