I am very very tempted. The only things putting me off are:

1. If this one has no recent history it will need a 12k service which is what say £600?
2. If Moto Rapido have one with fsh, newer, less miles, service on purchase and warranty for the same price would I be stupid to get this one now? Only drawback with MR are that bike is yellow and they probably would not take my Fazer and if they did the price would be less anyway.

I have re read the advert for this red one and it says FDSH so I think I will check with them again...

A little bit yeah. If you can get one with FSH, then that's got to be a good plan.

ring em and ask about the Fazer... you never know.... they may pay less for that but more for the Monnie.... you know, evening itself out.

Paul, If a 748 is what you yearn for then go for it, just do not let your heart rule your head & buy the first one you see, like you said, if you can not PX the Fazer into the deal, is it worth doing, I think not, look around at othe dealers. I know lincoln is far away but they have a W reg 748R http://www.italiamotoltd.co.uk/
a bit pricey for my liking but look at dealer web sites you might just find what you are looking for, just so long as it is Yellow

I think it is a 748 i am after.

Trouble is the heart does take over in these situations. Take when I bought your Monster, if my brain had been in charge I am sure I would not have bought a bike 250 miles away!

This time I am being a bit more cautious and am certainly waiting for confirmation of whether it has a fsh. If it does then it looks a bit more promising. If someone else buys it in the meantime then so be it.

Well the brain is in control this time definitely!

Just had them confirm that no history in books since 2003 with belt change 2002. They put it down as having a full history as books say every 20k km.

I have emailed back and said I would only buy it (or consider it) if either they get a full belt service done or I just swap my 2 bikes for it and pay for service myself.

We will see what happens

Sounds like an excellent piece of logic to me.
