yet another call for DD sponsorship...

there we go...

Same time of the year, same call for help

Just like a lot of guys out there, I'm looking for some sponsorship for next season. I haven't sent in my DD entry yet, I need to find out whether I can afford to take part to another race season or not.

I've already been offered some help tyres-wise. There is nothing agreed yet but that gives me some hope anyway.

Now I'd like to find some help for the race entries and / or the preparation of the bike (suspensions, engine if things can still be done, etc...).

What can I offer? My aim for next season is to play in the Top 5... ... At least once

But more importantly, my real skills being in IT, I'm happy to build for my sponsor any kind of web system (i.e. a kind of website doing more complex things than others websites). Trust me, I'm much better with a computer than with a bike. My expertise field is the web, I can design and build for you any system you require. The more complex it is, the happier I am. Yeah I know I'm a geek. And I have no fear
Booking systems, collaborative management tools, data logging, graphic reporting, etc... Anything you can think of it, I can implement it.
I'm also quite good at building, configuring, maintaining and administrating Linux servers (Windows as well but when the bl00dy thing doesn't work, it may not be my fault...). So if you know what LAMP means, you know what my field of expertise is. I can also code in Python, Java, etc... but I will need a few days to remember how it all works

So there you go, help me racing and I'll help you make your "what if we could this?" dreams come true.

Good call Tonio. To give you guys an idea to the value of the services Tonio is offering I currently pay between £350 and £600/day for decent web programmers, and a lot more those that can manage hardware as well. Tonio's work is obviously high quality and, most importantly, reliable. I'm sure he could help almost any small/midsize business in developing their toolsets.

Good luck!

Ali

Tonio

Do you have a website yourself? It may be a good place to advertise your capability as well as having a racing section which could get extra publicity for anyone wanting to sponsor you.

Could do, but I'd rather keep it free of geeky techie stuff which make my days busy and my nights short

Understood, but in order for someone to want to sponsor you ther has to be something in it for them. Now that could be publicity through being a high profile individual or a winner or it could be some additional benefit.

You started this post with what you could offer wwhich is good, but you need to sell yourself more to stand out from the crowd. If you are willing to work for your sponsorship that is great but you need ot make it very clear what you can do and provide something tangible that they can see such as a fantastic working site detailing your capability.

Maybe if you want to keep it separate you could link to it from your race site and likewise llink to your racing from your work site.

That's what I tried to do... I guess it's not working very well...

I see what you mean Lily. But I don't know yet how to do it. I'm not sure I could find now the time to develop anything just to show I can do it. Obviously I can't use anything of what I'm doing during the day because it belongs to my company.

Well, I need an idea. And I'm **** at that
