Okay, I'm going....

yes, that's what i meant - not a constant leak, but a little bit of residual fuel comes out when the pipes are pulled off. not very much, but enough to make it worthwhile having a rag to hand

I'm just about to start this aswell will you need to replace the o-rings aswell?

If it's the E tank without the quick release connectors, either drain the tank or make up some blanking pipes. It will leak and continue to do so until it's emptied itself.

The o-rings on the QR connectors should be ok. Have a look for any nicks or cuts in them. Replace if in doubt. They are pennies anyhow. Use plenty of grease on reassembly.

if they are the new green type then probably not
if they are the older black ones then I would exchange them for the newer

They are the black ones. I havn't had time to re-look at this but I was thinking about using a piece of tube to link the two elbows to gether to stop fuel leaking?
