I bought a Mitac Mio 268+ back in March and am really impressed by it. They've got new models out now which look even better. The 510 has replaced the 268+.
Make sure that whatever you get, it has got full postcode search facility, and the latest chipset - Sirfstar III - as this makes for faster satellite finding and route changing.
Mio are not a big seller in the UK so are realtively cheap as they are still trying to buy their way into the market. They are a big seller on the continent apparently. Oh, and there is a bike mount available as I've got one, although the unit is not waterproof. And when you select a route it asks what kind of vehicle you are driving - car, fast car, lorry, etc. But the best bit is if you select motorbike it will try to find the twistiest roads for you!

Wayy Hey - a fellow Mio user!

I bought a Mio Digiwalker 168 during the year for £100 including the CoPilot Live GPS software that started the whole Sat Nav ball rolling...Wifey thought it was all a gimick until she saw the ickle Mio doing its stuff - but I do love my gadets

On the Sat Nav front - both of the bluetooth speaker suppliers said they could not guarentee that their products would be compliant with the Tom Tom Rider Bluetooth ...Grrrrr

Apparently the rider Bluetooth spec is simply "Headset protcol" whatever that is - Halforda are selling it with a free car kit but, there is no way wifey will wear a headset in the car, even though she bleedin well got a great one with her Sony Ericcson phone - Women !!!

Rumour has it that Tom Tom are about to make some new releases / upgrades in the new year but I still fancy the GO510 which so far, the cheapest I can find online is good old Woolworths (but only via the 'net and NOT in time for xmas sadly) - for £247 !!!

Happy shopping
