To answer your shutter speed question, pick your camera then check it against this shutter speed site.

This is the camera that i have coming my way at the moment, it has a single shutter time lag of 0.29 seconds, also it has a 4 x optical zoom

These are the 2 sites i would look at, both do refurbished Canon camera`s with full warranty, rufurbished generaly means that it was on display at Comet/Currys etc.

The Sony DSC T camera`s have a fst shutter speed as Guy mentioned, if you click on the camera part of the Shutter speed link you just click on the model you want to look at & it will give you a full run down of that camera.

This Sony comes out well.

Ixus is a nice camera, but out of the sony's i think the W100 is worth a look. its suited to taking fast moving image shots ideal for bike racing. The results are pretty good for a small lens
