Guys, thanks for the advice on the tyre pressures.

Will try 30 in both.

Looks like quite a dry day, really looking forward to it.

Have to say the rear brake pipe looks wrong...........get a longer one!


Dont forget to do your tyre pressures cold, first thing!

I checked mine again after a couple sessions and with the heat the pressure rose by 6 psi

Thats why you do it cold! With the extra heat generated on track it could go up double that!!

Just received a couple of weeks ago same full body kit from QB for my 999r, but yet to find the hours to sort and fit it, fearing the worst...nothing happens easily or quickly when working on...one question - would be grateful to know if the front & rear number boards are sprayed on, or are they stuck on? Guide on cost would be much appreciated if the former, and if the latter, a tel. no./ website / e-mail address would also be much appreciated.

Number boards are decals, front and rear.

Speak to Ted or Graham at Image Works. Can't remember the cost, but, cheaper than a decent paint job.

Didn't have you down as a 911 man...... Should have guessed... you clearly have taste!.....................I remember the heady days last year of owning one of the last five SC Sports ever made.......sold it to give the cash to Mr Brown for Stamp Duty.....sounds like a fare swap not!!

I left school in 1984 and 1 thing that sticks in my mind was the yuppies buying guards red 911's with their bonus. Always loved the 911 and always wanted one, hence a tidy (ish) 1986 911 Carrera bought in 2002 and still owned today (just).

True mechanical sports car - no power steering, no air con, no traction control, no ABS. But it does have full leather interior, elec seats, elec mirrors and an engine to die for. The sound of a flat six starting to wail through twin 3 1/2" pipes at 3,000rpm almost compares to the bike

For me it's the closest car I've had to riding a bike. In a line of traffic, see a small gap, down 1 or 2 gears, flick, accelarate and back in ... just like you would on a bike. Accelarate through corners and the feedback is great .... of course dry weather only. Done a few 360 degree spins in the wet
