Glyn, Ive had to change both the 900SS and the 996 chains laterly. About £126 fitted for the 996,the Vtwins are heavy on chains as well as tyres. I got about the same mileage as you 10/12000. Check that you hav'nt got a tight spot so when you check it in differant places you ar,nt getting a false reading each time.
But having said that if you do have one then the chains naf any way.Theirs no good news either way. 4D
