You'd think also that they wouldn't fit a pre-production bodykit to it either!

Would it really cost Ducati that much to fit a motogp style fairing? Sales would go through the roof!

No worries, I've been building her up to taking the full berries since the first service at 500 miles. The MR dyno is the 'gentler' inertia type also. Done her a power of good having everything set up properly. Off to France on Thursday - 1,500 miles in 4 days - that should complete the running in process nicely

...as I'm also off on Thursday morning for 3 days riding, a little MotoGP on Sunday then home on Monday.

I'll be on the 996SPS riding with a ZX9R, R6, CBR6, Falco and a Varadero.

Can't miss me - France isn't that big after all...?!?!

I`m thinking of getting ProTwins to install an Ultimap enginge management system and now I`v fitted the new K&N type under tank filters from JHP it would be interesting for them to set up the engine on a dyno to see what it will do.Regards

I keep hearing some VERY high (optomistic) bhp figures out of that place.
I'd be VERY sceptical where I spent my money based on peoples comments such as that.
Not rubbishing it - well maybe I am, their Dyno! - but it all seems Mickey Mouse territory to me.
Why would you red line a bike (what you did on the dyno) when it's not been ridden in?
On whose advise?
It just gets worse.


Someone please tell me I did not read this first post correctly!

Henners I went on a weekend run to France in April watch out on the main port roads for speed traps.
Off the motorways no problem, hope its dry for you. be safe mate..

I don't think the 30 or so DSC members who got a free dyno run at Moto Rapido in March would agree aws - the figures came out much as expected with 748s get around 90bhp, 916s around 100 and 996s around 114. A 996R (same engine as mine) came out 127 and a 999R at 136. All seems about right.

My bike did 3 runs and I have no concerns about the strain put on the engine. Slow running and labouring does more harm IMHO.

Yours is a mass produced engine.
The 996R was hand built with sand cast heads all lovingly put together. I won't except anything less than 32trillion bhp
