Its gonna remain standardish for the time being.I'm not going to turn it into some concours d'elegance machine either.I just want an origionalish bike to pootle around on.The pic was taken about halfway through its little rebuild.I have since fitted a few more bits and pieces. It has been a great source of pleasure for me finding parts,....making brackets,....repairing old bodges,...etc.
I'm umming and arring about fitting a new carb to the old girl. The standard pumper Mikuni was **** when it was new and 27 years of wear and tear have not improved things.I did fit new needle and jets which helped a little, but hot starting and idle speed are still irratic.I have a few options to consider,...just got to weigh up the pro's and con's.
Tomorrow its the turn of the Hyper to come under the spanners.A Leo Vince exhaust cat removal kit arrived in the post.It should boost torque/power a little and make those Termis sing.Should be good!

Good to hear it KeffyB, with a bike in the garage your've got a friend for life. Let's hope the weather keeps getting better and you all so. Looks like we could have quit a selection of bikes out this year. 4D

That will fit the bill all right, looks very tidy for it’s years …can’t see any jubilee clips/ bungee cord/duck tape or anything . Be careful when Umming and arring about fitting the new carb though mate, or any other seemingly small part. Most full on rebuild articles I’ve read started with, Umm I’ll just…
Sounds like the hyper will be sorted for spring. It’ll be interesting to see what you think to it.
