Having had both and seen all the others I would rate the Akras way above any other brand. The fit and finish is second to none but the price is way more than any others.

The Termis do 'suit' the 1098 well and they have a raw bark to them. Ducati and Termi go together naturally but if the cost is not considered then go for Akra but buy the full system.

There are no cats in the pipework and they are only present in the original silencers. NO aftermarket exhaust have cats fitted to them apart from maybe the titanium version of the Termis.

Leo Vinci are good quality but to me the pipework looked very thin and I personally was not keen on the shape of the carbon heatshield. Zards are quite unusual and they also appear to be decent quality.

bugger forgot about the zards and they also look fantastic. Oh well too late made the commitment..'ish on the Akro's now. 10 days to go before pickup of the bike with the cans fitted. looking forward to it. then home to fit everything else. :-)

Thanks for all your help. Shame i just cant afford the £2500 plus pc V in the same hit with the 15k bike.. trying to get everything before the euro/ pound price hike.

The 1198 uses the same exhaust sytem as the 1098R, the exhaust gaskets are the same part number so if you bought a 1098R specific exhaust it will fit.

The new Arata apparently gives out the best HP figures of any other exhaust. It has a weird 'balance' pipe that increases response and power, quality is fantastic but wether it looks as good as some of the others is debateable.

You not been on the 1098 forum ?

There are some good vendors on there and usually some Akra systems etc.

Remember that you will need a DP race ecu or a Nemesis or you will get error codes if you fit a full system.

Value for money wise you cannot go past the Termi. If you bought the full system you would get a replacement ecu that is set up correctly for the system AND will still allow the traction control to work.
