Where does the 998 fit in then  Is it some sort of inbetweenie like the Goodies song??  Must admit the later 999 with the filled in top vents don't look too bad.  IMHO A blinged up bike always looks good if done to taste. I'm trapped in 2002 though, I don't think it would be a bright move to sell the 998, much as I might like the idea of a 1098 or 1198.
