Not sure what vacuum inlet you are refering to, I was thinking of the ones that have the black bobbin type filters on them

or did you originally connect to the overflow hose

I actually connected the fuel delivery to the carbs breather

And after swapping the HT leads, the engine's now running. Roll on 2009

Anton, maybe you should mark things or take a few pics before you pull them apart, or is it just the way the French do things

I don't like taking notes, marking stuff, etc... It just does not help me to understand what does what. Now I know that Mikuni CV carbs have a breather
