I use the pilot 2's. Dual compound, with 3 compounds between the 2 tyres - so super sports on sides of front, sports on centre of front and sides of rear, and a harder compound across the three inches of the centre of the rear.
They've never given me any nasty moments and feel very planted.
The rear has lasted superbly without squaring off - very good idea if you are doind a lot of motorways or two up.

Dunlop Roadsmarts

Let us know where the Roadsmarts were made[Japan or France], the new Q2 dual compound Qualifier will be out in a few months. They just did a journalists launch in the US for publication to coincide with the release. Talk was quite favorable. Works good on the track, and should last a lot longer on the street.

ymfb,

this thread reads quite funny.
You asked for advice and then totally ignored it

pretty much 99% of my riding on the ST4S is two up with luggage, on one trip or another.
I've tried almost evert tyre going now, with the exception of the one your about to fit.

My choice would be either a Pirelli Diablo, or a Conti Road Attack.
These two give me the most tyre life, with a confidence inspiring level of grip.
I really like Michelin Pilot Powers, but they just don't last when 2 up.

Let us know how you get on.
Btw, round and black on ebay do sets of tyres at prices my local shops can't even buy them at. Even when charged for fitting they still work out cheaper.

Firstly they are made in France to answer danrduc's question.

Secondly, whilst I rate the opinion of DSCers way above MCN it did cross my mind that of those of you kind enough to give me their opinion none had tried the Roadsmarts. MCN voted them best tyre last year and I thought I would be doing you all a favour if I fitted them.

Whilst I have only ridden them for about 5 miles I can report they look good
