Just had some of these made for mine (although mine being the F/F you cant see them ), due to one being broke, so made some in 3mm polycarb. Just wondering if anyone wanted a set.
Fit the 2 valve motor, suit the 900/750ss half faired or monster, i think
Not sure let you know in a couple of weeks, although there isnt an air tight seal, so shouldn't fog up, poss get dirty on the inside, but remove, clean and replace..... SORTED. lol. DP sell the same sort of item anyway.
I remember visiting the Ducati factory in 1983 (!) when they were still building the bevel valve twins. To check the oil flow, they bolted little transparent covers in place of the triangular covers at the tops of the cam drive shafts, and connected the engine via a chain to a big electric motor. Then they spun it up, and Luigi peered in through the transparent caps and checked the oil was circulating....
It cracked me up.
And when the bikes came off the end of the line, the final carb adjustment was done by Luigi's brother, Mario, who used the special tools of one (1) screwdriver and two (2) hands, held over the ends of the silencers to gauge the back pressure, before he gave the adjuster and mixture screws their final twiddle.
Heh Neil,i don't think things have moved on that much since 1983,judging from some of the things you hear when talking to Ducati service technicians, .....crank bearings failing because the oilways haven't been drilled etc!!!!
