With the low tyre pressures that Slicks use you would probably be in danger of ripping the valve out of the innertube as the tyre deflects as its worked to keep the heat in it.
Probably why you see a few Sports classics running 749/999 wheels which also allows the use of 4-pot and 4-pad calipers
