I'm sure Abromavich and Kenyon are not that stupid to think that one player makes a team or even a few good players. But often one player makes the club alot of money and that's what they are all about. Personally I'd rather Beckham than Rooney at Chelsea. Rooney would be better off playing champions league football sooner rather than later and he won't get that at Everton. I'd say Rooney to move to a bigger club would make him an even better England player.

Besides, I was ony BORN in 75 - let alone following a football club! Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad we can afford to buy good players and pay off the club debt etc (maybe they can reduce ticket prices from the £40 odd you need now to get a ticket!) and thats a good thing. I guess my comment was more about how they handled the Ranieri thing etc ...
It will be interesting to see the makeup of th e side next season, should be good! And I think we'll be in Europe for a few more years yet.
I agree with your comment on Rooney, some more European experience will develop him as a player and has to be a reason to go to a bigger club. Even the experienced players are considering leaving big clubs to go to other big clubs that are also in Europe - Gerrard, Owen etc ...
