Fuel tank removal.
Remove the two bolts either side of the seat and two bolts underneath.If its a Bip there are a couple of bolts under the passenger pad that have to come out too.You can then lift up the tank and seat up get access to the joining bolt.On the mono the rear section of the seat has a peg that just pushes into a rubber grommet.
I usually prop the bottom of the tank with a bit of 4x2 while I'm undoing the 17mm bolt that releases the seat from the tank.Then its just a case of unplugging the electrics and releasing the fuel line unions.They are quick release items,the same as the 916 syle bikes,although some early bikes just have a hose clip.(Dunno if the fuel pours out,I guess it does.)You should now be able to remove the tank.
