Sure most will say the R simply because of its pedigree. For me, its which suits my riding if I'm doing some miles.

Obviously only my opinion but having ridden a nice T9s, it's like a torture rack over any distance where the 1098 is more relaxed. 1098 should be easier to source parts for if needed and again for me I'd be less worried about keeping it clean and using it a lot than an R.

Now if it was a 1098 R no contest
