Rear Hub

guys,
This may well be a stupid question as I'm fairly new to dukes but here goes-

I have noticed that the rear hugger on my 748 is no longer central over the rear wheel ( A few months ago i changed the standard wheels for machesinis after damaging the rear rim, i assumed this was a straight forward swap).
I thought that the hugger may have moved slightly, but when i took it for its service the tech said that it may be the bushes in the rear hub that have moved- making the wheel off centre, and that the hub may require lookin at.

Is this possible???

also when we changed the front wheel the speedo we swapped the speedo drive from the standard wheel to the
marchesini as there wasn't one with the new wheel.
evrything worked fine for a while, then the speedo stopped reading. I was guessing that something was loose, but the tech said that the cable had probably snapped without even seeing the bike.
Is this a common fault???

Thanks for your time.
