Is the motor turning over slowly? If so, providing the battery is in good nick then the sprag clutch could be wearing.
If the motor is turning over OK, then maybe a little tweak on the adjuster at the twistgrip to give the cold start button a bit more pull may help. What's the tickover like on the cold start? 1300-1500 rpm should be plenty.
