998r IS a bigger bore and shorter stroke!
I am wondering also about valve size, compression ratio etc etc.
I dont think youll achieve what your looking for with just cams and an ecu.

If you fitted the cams, what timing are they going to be set at? all sorts of unknown questions. Maybe the 998r/9r (there the same) cams are the same as a 998s, youd have to look at the open/ shut/ lift timing for them.

If they are a higher lift then they might strike the 998 piston?

I think thatll be a scrapped idea then.

Now there is a 998s cam kit that fits the 998bp to raise horses?? Its in the dp catalogue?
