I've not done a small end other than a two stroke but back in the 80s I use to use a Reamer for the valve guides. That way you could probably do it in Situ

I know its late & I'm semi ****ed but two strokes don' t have valve guides.

Your just taking the P again, just because I used my phone for the previous post didn't quite come out as intended On 2-strokes I just had to change the needle roller bearings in the small end
and on 4-stroke I would use a reamer to get the correct internal bore on the valve guides
