This must be a nightmare for u. I think the man must be a complete ars8ehole to turn around and not offer to at least pay some thing for the damage he caused whether by accident or misadventure. Is it worth contacting your house policy to see if they would cover it. Putting pressure on your man may not bring any results unless you sit in one of his taxis with a Stanley knife and have another little accident with that and a leather seat, on doggy ground hear making suggestions I think. Reason may not be the key. We are all vunerable to the friendly family visits and the " can I sit on it" brigade, fine if you are standing next to it ,fatal if your'e not as you have found out. Although this is a fair few bob, its not life threatening or going to bankrupt you, and family are family what ever cards you are dealt. Calm down and try to see things in a friendlier light, being to agressive may not be the key.Im sure when the other family members get to now about it, thinks may change for the better . 4D
