How Easy Is it to change Pressure Plate?

I have ordered a load of goodies from Casoli, including a Red Anodised clutch pressure plate.

Is there a step by step guide on how to change this. I would like to know before I end up with a load of springs and bolts.

It looks like just undoing the bolts and springs and then replacing the old plate, then job done!!!

But there is probably a lot more to it than that.

Nope,thats it.If the new plate does'nt come with a bearing,you may need to press out the origional one.
One more thing,the standard pressure plate has an arrow stamped on it wich lines up with a groove cut into one of the fixing posts.This is to make sure the plate does'nt foul on the inner drum.Some replacement plates dont have this arrow,(Some have a dot punched mark)so double check the clutch operation before you put it all back together.

OK, that's spooky. I've just had a delivery from Casoli... including a red anodised clutch pressure plate!

When I was ordering the stuff, Dave (who is pure evil and will tempt you to buy twice as much as you intended to) said something about making sure the new plate is lined up correctly by looking at the markings on the old plate before you take it off. I've not taken a look at it yet so I'm not sure what the markings look like but it sounded like it should be straight forward.

Did you get the stainless steel springs too?

one of the spring posts will have a groove cut in the top, line up the dot on the new plate with it when fitting the new plate....when i took my old plate off i tapped the bearing out (gently) by laying it on two pieces of wood and using a socket the same size as the bearing as a drift to tap out with a hammer...if you get probs, go to the tech section, plenty of clued up people with advice there.....good luck

Hope you managed it - cos I did mine early in the year, and the bike is still going cheerfully!
I have nooooo mechanical nous - but can take bikes to bits sometimes.....

Am feeling all mechanical, as managed to change pressure plate - springs too, and also the engine bolt, when fitting the R & G crash bungs...

Maybe I should set up a workshop??
