Daylight MOT
What's the law with regard to a daylight only MOT? Will a "normal" MOT cover you for this?
Reason for asking is that I might want to ride the beast with the track bodywork on rather than swapping it all back to road trim, but of course this wouldn't have headlights, although it would have taillights.
My understanding is that to ride without lights, you have to re-MOT the thing as daylight only. Seems daft to me though.
The only thing you can LEGALLY ride without lights is a trials bike capable of less than 25mph.
There are plenty of MOT stations who will take your money & give you a daylight only MOT but that won't make it legal though if you are on a road bike.
I think that unless the Police person who stops you knows the law then you'd probably be okay with a daylight MOT. Might get a bit tricky if you had an accident and a clever solicitor got on the case...
so if you are out in daylight with a daylight MOT and a race fairing with no light what can you be done for ? and i thought MOT ment. Means OF Transport
