I have a set of 6 pot PFMs which are pretty much like APs on my track bike. I use Bendix Carbon Matrix pads which come in the right dimensions for the 6 pots (same size I believe for PFMs or APs). I would NOT recommend them for the road. They have amazing feel and stopping power once hot but are totally useless when cold. It gets about 2 or 3 braking in a session to have them at operating temperature and they are perfect afterwards. The Carbon Matrix stuff seems to be the recommended set up for APs and PFMs but it looks like I have warped a set of discs using a new set of pads. I guess you need to bed the pads in when using new ones (and I wasn't doing much of that on track) but also PFM discs are known to warp whereas APs and Brembo to hold better. To be on the safe side, get some organic pads and you should be fine. Cheers p |
