Just had a thought.

Are the 998 ignition relays specific?

Not the relays.

So the pump primes, manually bridge solenoid to turn over and you get one spark and no fuel

Also does not matter if the side stand switch is bridged or not

Sorted.

Turns out that the 998 pump primes on the key and Ducati in there wisdom changed one wire in the front harness.

Got to love my drawings though LOL. Feckin hate wiring.

Yep all sorted no thanks. To be honest it was an archive post from 10 years ago on DSC that helped me out.

sorry for the thread hijack but how wildly different would a 1098 or 749/999 loom be seeing as they use the same ECU

sure some things will be in slightly different places and dash is different, but could looms for these bikes be adapted to fit the 998? they are certainly more available

Kev Ellis is yer man to ask but the canbus system the 749/999 uses I think is also on the 1098 so the loom differences could be substantially different?

998 main loom is rarer than rocking horse s**t. I managed to get two recently, one for the bike and one spare but they where not cheap.

These bikes use CanBus the 998 doesn't
