You are probably all aware by now that Tart 1 is now the proud owner of a 999r Fila Rep ( no 198 )

What I want to know is ... Why has Daves bike got slightly different graphics to all the pictures of the Fila reps that you can find on the net and also to the Mini Champs model of the rep.

Daves bike does not have the Michelin and the Gnutti decals on the front mudguard and he in place of the Michelin on the side fairing, he has CM Composites.

I have since found a picture of Toselands bike and he has the CM Composite decal but has Pirelli decals on his mudguard.


Is this difference solely due to the change in sponsorships going from end 2003 to beginning of 2004 up until May 2004 when this bike was made ( Flanker saw it in the factory in late May 04 ) ???

Daves bike also does not have the white pin striping around the edge of his wheels.


Can anyone shed light on this for me ???

The switch from Michelin to Pirelli tyres probably explains why the Michelin decal is missing.

Ducati build very few bikes, and I expect that the Fila reps took a lot longer period to complete. They probably changed the bike's graphics as the team sponsors changed to keep them in line.

You'll find most official rep bikes don't equate to actual reps in terms of sponsors etc, and sometimes paint.

For example, the 996S Hodgson Rep bikes, the silver/blue strips on the nosecone are reversed, the wrong way round, glaringly obvious, and most of the sponsors logo's are missing, with only a handful on the rep bike.

I'd guess that Antonye is right, they probably use the same stickers they use on the actual Corse race bikes due to the low numbers hence the stickers can change as sponsors etc change.

now the Hodgson rep 996's could've been different as JPM says, maybe its because they were done specially for the UK market (in the UK rather than the factory ?)

Yes, same with the Red Bull bikes.

Were the Foggy bikes UK or Factory? I know they were all imported by MotoCinelli, but where they a proper factory finish?
