Not got a garage just a carport, dont have the best of weather over winter here in Denmark, going to take her for one last ride this weekend,(weather permitting) then its wash polish and into the lounge, where i can run a duster over her now and again on the dark cold winter nights.

Andy hows it going mate?

it all depends on what you are gonna do with it while in storage!

IE ,do u intend to start her up once a week?
or are you gonna leave it for the winter without running her?

Ok the old myths of draining her down ! are a bit of a waist of time nowadays; due to the corrosion factor !

so if you are gonna leave her for long periods without running her make sure you fill the petrol tank to the brim!

This will A stop the petrol tank corroding inside!
and B it will help stop the petrol from going stale!

WHY? because air in the tank carries moister and corrodes the inside and Air makes the fuel go stale

unless its a alloy tank

ok now put the bike on the paddock stands front and rear!

keep the tyres off the ground !

then remove the callipers and push back the pistons all the way
as this will stop the pistons sticking out!

then clean the chain with keroseen !not white spirit or solvent and wipe dry .

get some hypoid 90 gear oil and brush it on the chain and leave to drain(on news paper)

polish the rest of the bike with Bees wax MR sheen etc and get some 3in1 oil on a soft cloth and wipe Alloy levers foot rests wheels etc etc ! then if you can get your hands on an old candlewick bed sheet ! just drape it over the bike and
your done!
when the summer comes spray bike over with Autoglym motorcycle cleaner then hose off and polish !!
new pin comes to mind

works 4 me

ps if you are going to run it up once a week ! make sure you run it till the fan kicks in!!!

never start it for 5mins and switch it off as the condensation sits in the exhausts and rotts them etc etc

hope this helps!!mav
