Thanks Kev, you obviously think that it looks too close to the edge. However according to the Haynes manual for the 996 the steel plates are 2.0mm thick and not 1.5mm. this gives a stack height of 38.5mm, which mine is.

I have purchased a couple of 1.5mm plates though which I intend to pop in to move the end plate back a bit to stop it popping off.

If indeed it is too close to the edge with the correct stack height, something must be causing it, but I can't work out what it could be :-/
