The riskiest thing YOU\'VE done?

A natural progression from Lily's thread ... what is the riskiest thing you've ever done (that you will own up to?)

I was just thinking about this and I don't know what it is for me but I've done stuff that I would consider risky .. mostly cool, but I guess risky

1. Rappeled out of a blackhawk helicopter into water (that was FUN!)
2. Accelerated freefall skydiving course
3. Abseiled forwards (Sugar glide, just dive off forwards hanging on to your rope wahey ....) off a 100m building in the centre of Brisbane
4. Dived with sharks both inadvertently and intentionally (and I'm not talking grey nurses here either)
5. I came to live in England
6. Told my ex-girlfriend she was 'chunking up' when I was ****ed once

There's probably more, like getting a bike when I was 18 - looking back now that was pretty high risk considering the stupid stuff I did on it.

What about you?

hmmm... well there's the obvious given my lack of natural riding ability and how accident prone i am - getting a motorbike!!

I have skied and boarded in some pretty stupid places and have actually caused a mini avalanche
Kayaked on a river in flood known to be very very dangerous (in fact make that kayaked in some pretty stupid places full stop)
Abseiled forward down 100ft building.. on a mountain bike!!!
swam with sharks (only liccle ones though)
Cliff diving in windy conditions
stood in front of a moving car :P

Not a lot on bikes....but;

'boarded flat-out down a glacier known for it's thin powder and many crevasses.
Gone looking for a riot in Caracas and found one.
Cliff jumping into shallow water when young.
Played with my genes in the early 90's.
Tried to keep up with someone on wets at TA3.....

I'm sure there's some medical term for risk-loving folk like us. I'd look it up but I'm too busy juggling hand-grenades while practising stoppies on a harley.

Cheers,

Ali

done the skiing, boarding, parachuting thing, but the riskiest (most stupid) thing i have done is swimming.

i was on a windsurfing, waterskiing, sailing type holiday in italy with my now wife and another couple. me and the other guy wandered off down the beach in the surf just generally mucking about in the waves. after a while we had gone quite away from our beachfront and into a surf bay. we hadnt realised how far out we had got and i decided to head for shore. when i got there i realised my friend still out there and in apparent trouble. i swam out to him with him going out of view a few times. i was crapping myself by now. i got to him and he said he couldnt get back so i grabbed hold of him and pulled him in a bit so he could get a bit of pull from the sea bed and get in.
only trouble is now i couldnt get back. i view myself as a strong swimmer but the current was taking me out and i was tiring quickly, everytime i managed to touch the bottom and make a foot or so i was pulled back further. i some how managed to gain some distance and eventually get to shore. i literally dragged myself up the beach and collapsed next to my mate totally exhausted and unable to move for a quite a while.

it soulds very innocuous but that is the only time in my life where i really thought i had had it. i honestly dont think i would have made it back had i beed even 5 feet further out.
