Mood: got to be a worry.....!
as advised, I primed, painted (code 1120), lacquered etc and unfortunately the red is close to the bodywork but to my eye sufficiently different to notice i.e. slightly orangey red than ducati red.

did anyone else have this problem or am I being too picky for my £15?

I also tried as suggested, WHY DONT I LEARN!! If anyone ever hears or sees me doing something technical or vaguely technical, SMACK ME!

After 7 layers of paint (yes 7!) the things still look patchy and terrible! A paper got caught on them betwwen coats which removed paint and primer, tried to patch up, re-prime, lines every where....AARRGHH

Got a mate trying to sort them out for me - reckon they will end up 3" deep in paint when finished!!

Its at times like this I remember why I pay others to do these things and why I never have any money left.....dont even know if the colour is any good with the bodywork yet, no doubt be MILES OFF!!

Having a bad day Paul??

I picked up a set from our old friend e-bay. Under £50 for the pair.

aerosol painting's a bit of an art, preparation is 9/10ths of the job, and when you take into account your time as well as the materials, it may work out a lot cheaper to just go for the exchange option.

just like wallpapering - 10/10 for initial enthusiasm (it can't be that difficult) - 3/10 for application (well I did manage to buy the right paint)!!!

preparation was the easy bit...wet & dry fine stuff, couple coats primer, all went well, it was after that problems began!
