Take the fuel pump out and stuff in from underneath.

sorry but no one has said if you fill it to the top - ie you can see it with the cap off...

Used to be able to see it from the filler hole on my 1098S dont think it makes that much difference on a DD bike unless your filling your tank to the top, natuarly any petrol not in the foam will slosh around
